Saddle up and join the new GCSCA Trail Riding Program!

The purpose of the Trail Riding Program is to recognize GCSCA members who enjoy using their horses for trail riding and/or pleasure driving. Throughout the year members will track their trail riding hours on the GCSCA Trail Riding Program Log. We will have lifetime and Annual Awards.

Rules:

1.  The members age will be determined as of January 1st of the qualifying year.
2.  All riders or drivers must be a member in good standing of an approved GCSCA club.
3.  Horses ridden in the Trail Riding Program do not have to be owned by the rider.
4.  All annual award hours will be calculated from October 2nd until October 1st of the qualifying year.
5.  Hours are tracked per horse/rider combination.
6.  Hours will be logged on the honor system. ONLY trail riding or driving hours will count. Ring (arena) riding, pasture riding, training, etc do NOT count. All hours logged must be actual riding hours less any breaks or lunch periods. You cannot accumulate time while at shows, endurance rides, drill team practice, parades, play days or other competitive events. Riding in an arena, round pen, pasture or paddock for any reason is not trail riding.
7.  Logged hours should be rounded off to the nearest ¼ hour. Example: 1.25, 1.50, 1.75 or 2.0.
8.  GCSCA Trail Riding Program Log must be used to track time.
9.  It is the responsibility of the participant to complete the log form completely, legibly and accurately.
10. Upon completion of each 50 hours, the rider must send in their TRP Log.

~As each log sheet with 50 hours is received a 50 hour patch will be mailed out. This is a great way to show off your hours in the saddle.
11. Accomplishments will be announced on the GCSCA website and at the annual banquet. Awards will also be presented at the annual awards banquet.

Fees:

1. A yearly enrollment fee of $15/horse is required each year. Please send this in with your first log sheet.

Year-End Awards:

A year End Champion and Reserve Champion Certificate (based on annual hours logged) will be presented for each of the following age groups:

10 & Under 11 - 13 14 - 17 18 - 34 35 & Over

Lifetime Awards:

50 Hours - GCSCA/TRP Achievement Patch

750 Hours - GCSCA/TRP Vest

1000 Hours - GCSCA/TRP Jacket
